My logo is thanks to the work of John Stuart Reid and his son James, at their company Sound Made Visible, where they use a new and innovative scientific instrument called a cymascope, that does indeed, make sound and vibration visible!
This amazing work is based on the work of Swiss doctor Hans Jenny who in the 1970s, named this branch of the science of sound made visible ‘cymatics’. ‘Cymatics’ derives from the from the Greek word ‘kyma,’ meaning ‘wave’ and is the inspiration for the name of the CymaScope instrument.
According to John’s studies, the true nature of audible sound is that of a pulsating sphere and the CymaScope captures a cross-section through the sphere, revealing the delicate and complex structures within. [For more info see https://www.cymascope.com/cymascope.html]
Cymatics is based on the principle that when sound encounters a membrane such as the surface of water, it imprints an invisible pattern of energy. Applying special lighting and a high-resolution digital camera to this pattern of energy, reveals a voice signature that is unique to each person – as unique as your DNA – for your DNA, it turns out, also shapes your unique voice.
Because I use my voice in my sound meditations and sound healing sessions, I wanted a logo that is personal to me. The image that you see is my own DNA voice signature which was recorded (during the first Irish pandemic lockdown) on the Spring Equinox of 2020. A powerful time when the Sun is exactly above the Equator and day and night are of equal length, the Spring equinox represents a time of balance but also a time of transition from darkness to light, a time of new beginnings and rebirth. It is my intention that my voice and ‘Alchemy of Sound’ can help facilitate such transitions towards finding inner golden light and finding inner peace.
